Welcome to the official website of the Alton Firemen's Association, Inc.  This website is maintained for the benefit of the Alton NH Fire & Rescue Department.

The Department is composed of 36 call members, a full-time secretary, and a part-time Chief and a part-time Assistant Chief who is the Department's Fire Inspector.

We responded to 640 calls in 2009 -- 165 fire, 354 EMS of which 81 were motor vehicle accidents, and 40 service calls -- making us the 9th busiest call department in the Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid system www.lrmfa.org of which we are a member town (Town of Alton, NH).   The Department covers approximately 70 square miles of land (one of the largest towns in the state of NH) and 20 square miles of water including 17 miles of shoreline and 9 inhabited islands. The  population of Alton recorded in a 2000 census was 5,109.
